Add a touch of festive glamour to your client’s hair with two updo hairstyles you can easily re-create in the salon.
For the hairdressing industry, traditionally the festive season is the busiest time of year. With endless celebrations around every corner, the demand for standout styles is at an all-time high as clients want to look and feel their best.
To inspire your seasonal styling, we’ve teamed up with Schwarzkopf Professional Educators and key members of our hairdressing community, Alwyn DiGregorio and Catherine Hill. Each artist has crafted a festive updo hairstyle, complete with a step-by-step tutorial and product suggestions, designed to help you shine behind the chair this season…
1) Secure the hair into a low ponytail using a single hair tie, using OSiS Flexwax and FIBRE CLINIX Light Oil to smooth and prep the hair.
2) Starting from the base, twist the ponytail, leaving about one inch at the bottom and keeping hold of the ponytail at this point.
3) Manipulate the hair into the desired figure of eight shape, twisting and pinning the hair as you go.
4) Tuck any excess hair from the end of your ponytail underneath your style and pin to secure in place.
5) Mist with OSiS Texture Craft and use your fingers to gently pull on the updo to add texture.
1) Section out around one inch of face-framing and part where desired. Smooth using a brush and leave out for now.
2) Tease the hair slightly at the crown, then smooth everything into a low ponytail. Spray OSiS Freeze to smooth.
3) Using a curling iron, curl the ponytail into barrel type curls, spraying OSiS Volume Up before each curl.
4) Carefully brush out the curls, holding the ponytail at the base. Spray OSiS Texture Craft and fan the ponytail out. Then lightly tease the base of the ponytail, layering each wave as you go.
5) Now bring the front sections back and smooth with OSiS Freeze. Cross these over the ponytail and wrap around, pinning underneath.
6) Spray OSiS Freeze all over to finish.
