CANDY DANDY

Rounded Fringes with Eye-Catching Pastel Shades

HAIR DIRECTION

Rounded fringes — Square outlines — Longer layering — Eye catching pastels

Whether on short directional haircuts or long hair variations, rounded fringes dominate throughout this trend look whilst the colour palette of soft smoky greys, apricots and pale blondes all help to enhance the Candy Dandy vibe.

KEY CUT

Rounded Fringes

While this cut direction has rounded fringes, the overall shape has a square outline, with longer layers.

KEY COLOUR

Eye–catching pastel shades — Light lining technique

Soft smoky greys, apricots, mauves and pale blonde pastels form the base colour palette. The colours are applied with a freehand application to create a "light lining" finish.

FASHION DIRECTION

Pastels for grown-ups — Romantic yet modern — Feminine silhouettes —
Candy & mint palette — Constructed & shapely — Delicate detailing

Sugar pastels get a lick of spice this season as the romantic candy palette is brought bang up-to-date with constructed silhouettes and bold detailing. Dior led the way with plisse sheers, silk taffetas, satins and cotton blends cinched, pleated and moulded for depth while DKNY layered up key sherbet shades. Details delighted with fluted hemlines, fringes and frills adding a dash of fresh glamour.

WHITE HOT

Asymmetric Shapes Shot Through with Red Tonal Combinations

HAIR DIRECTION

Flat internal shapes — Variations of asymmetry — Colour fusing — Red tonal combinations

The dominating aspects of the White Hot haircuts are flatter internal shapes which are offset with variations of asymmetry. The colours used throughout are predominantly red tonal combinations which deliver a colour fusing effect.

KEY CUT

Asymmetric Shapes

The overall cut has a flat internal shape while the top section is offset with slight asymmetry.

KEY COLOUR

Red tonal combinations — Colour–fuse technique

Shades from the same tonal family are used to create a graduated technique for a fusion of complementary colours.

FASHION DIRECTION

Elegant shapes — Soft sheers — Broderie anglaise — Layered textures —
Delicate beading & embroidery — Fluid, lightweight fabrics

Like an invocation of summer heat, this season’s white on white trend is delicate, chic and seductive. Jil Sander, Chloe, and Roberto Cavalli employed detail, shape and texture to create layers of elegant interest while preserving their pure white palette. Fluid sheers, exquisite appliqués and ankle length embroidery conjure a trend that floats from the searing heat of the day to long sultry nights.

METALLXX

Shorter Internal Layers with Cool Metallic Colours

HAIR DIRECTION

Short internal layers — Longer outline shapes — Soft fringes — Cool Metallic colouring

Taking the clothes fashion lead, the Metallxx hair direction is a bold statement of directional glamour. Shorter internal layers combine with longer outline shapes which fuse together with the cool Metallic colours delivering a sophisticated look.

KEY CUT

Shorter Internal Layers

Here, shorter internal layers are combined with longer outline shapes. The fringes are slightly feathered to gently soften the overall appearance.

KEY COLOUR

Cool metallic colours — Reflexxions technique

Both small and large triangular shapes are used in this technique; the small triangle is always the darker colour whilst the larger is lighter. Three reflective cool tone shades are always used to create a feeling of warmth.

FASHION DIRECTION

Luminous metallics — Luxe layers — Exquisitely tailored — Radiantly chic — Bold florals — Embroidered & embossed details

Florals are rarely recessive and metallics never take a backseat so, when floral metallics blazed a trail through the fashion week capitals it was an unmissable trend. Lustrous fabrics with dense floral prints were perfectly tailored by Stella McCartney while sheer fabrics were embossed, embroidered, textured and overlaid on the catwalks of Rochas, Dries Van Noten and those gilded princes Dolce & Gabbana.
